    • life changes, transitions, and stress

  • My approach to therapy is client-centered and driven by my belief in the importance of the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. My work draws from several therapeutic approaches and techniques, and the style of therapy is based on what will most effectively work for you. My therapeutic approaches and theoretical orientation is based on the following modalities:

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

    • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

    • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

    • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

    • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

I believe a collaborative, therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is a strong catalyst for progress and healing in therapy. I value meeting a client where they are at, following their pace, and focusing on their strengths while supporting them in identifying solutions. I provide a warm, empathetic, shame-free, and judgment-free space for clients to comfortably explore goals, process and discuss difficult topics, and build upon existing strengths to establish and maintain safe, happy, and fulfilling lives. I strive to infuse culturally sensitive and social justice approaches into my practice and am committed to these principles personally and professionally. I utilize ongoing education and training opportunities to enhance my clinical skills.

  • You might be feeling stuck in patterns that don’t feel good anymore. You know something needs to change, but you’re not sure what or how. You might want space to slow down and make sense of things.

Past experiences might show up in your thoughts, emotions, or your body. You might be carrying experiences that you haven’t had the space, feelings of safety, or time to process.

You might have thoughts that feel loud, repetitive, or hard to stop. You might feel driven to check, avoid, or mentally replay things to feel okay. You might feel stuck in cycles that bring temporary relief but that relief doesn’t last.

You might feel disconnected, numb, or exhausted. You may have lost interest in things you once loved. You might feel weighted down without knowing why.

You might want to explore your identity. You might want to better understand yourself without judgment.

You might also be having a hard time adjusting to changes. You may feel overwhelmed or uncertain.

You may also just need support in day-to-day functioning.

If any of this resonates with you, please know that you are not alone. Your curiosity about if therapy might be helpful is in itself a sign that it could.

  • Let’s get in contact. The next step is to schedule a 20- to 30-minute consultation in-person or via phone.

During the consultation, you can expect:

    • A brief introduction to my practice, background, and approach to therapy,

    • Discussing your interest in therapy, your concerns that bring you to consider therapy at this time, and any ideas you may have about your goals for therapy,

    • Time for you to ask any questions you may have for me,

    • A brief overview of what the next steps look like, including what to expect in the initial intake session, scheduling the intake session, and familiarizing you with my Client Portal.

  • In our first intake session, we will review an intake form that you will have completed prior to the session. We will discuss your current concerns, review your mental health history, discuss current symptoms, and explore ideas about therapy goals together. We may also complete mood assessments, review my practice forms, and spend some time getting to know one another.

I am not contracted with any insurance companies and I do not bill insurance providers for therapy services.

I can provide superbills (statements of services/receipts) for you to submit to your insurance provider to attempt full or partial reimbursement for therapy services. My therapy services would be submitted as an “out-of-network” claim.

  • A good first step is to call your insurance provider directly and ask them if your plan includes reimbursement for out-of-network mental health providers.

Insurance providers may fully or partially reimburse for out-of-network services. Reimbursement of any amount is not guaranteed.

  • I am required by federal law to provide a Good Faith Estimate to you upon initiation of therapy services. This document summarizes costs for therapy services when not billing insurance. You will be provided with a copy of this document when beginning therapy services with me.
